This painting reflects the mystery of the Incarnation: Christ choosing to dwell among us, not in grandeur but within the humble setting of a family. It was inspired by a fellowship during a retreat, where individuals and couples shared their daily struggles while faithfully carrying their crosses.

The painting portrays Singapore’s housing landscape as a mountainous terrain of domestic churches, each home a sacred space where the Word continues to dwell. The light within every household symbolizes both the cross we bear and the presence of Christ, who walks alongside us.

Like the star that led the Magi to the Holy Family, that same light continues to shine today, guiding us and offering hope to every household.

“于是，圣言成为血肉，寄居在我们中间”（若望福音 1:14）

这幅作品映照了“道成肉身”的奥迹：基督选择亲临人间，并非以显赫之姿，而是谦卑地居于一个平凡家庭。创作灵感源于退省中的团体共融，当时弟兄姊妹及夫妇们，在每日忠实地背负自己的十字架时，仍坦诚分享生活中的挣扎。

画中描绘新加坡的组屋景致，宛如连绵山峦般的“家庭教会”,每一户都是一个圣所，让圣言持续居住其中。家家户户透出的光芒，既象征我们背负的十字架，也标志着基督与我们同行的临在。

正如昔日引领贤士朝拜圣家的那颗星，这同一道光至今依然照耀，为我们引路，并为每一个家庭带来希望。
